In 2014, the “Valles Sanjuaninos” Delegation of the National University of San Juan was created by the Superior Council by Ordinance 33/14 – CS. Its objective was to teach university courses in the departments of Jáchal, Iglesia, Valle Fértil and Calingasta with its academic headquarters located in the city of San José in Jáchal.

The National University of San Juan is currently performing academic activities in the aforesaid departments by means of Complementary Acts within the framework of agreements between the provincial government and the different municipalities.
